FEATURES:
The 13125-OFER clutch disc has a different friction material on each of it sides. The combination of these materials make it a good choice for the daily driver who occasionally uses his truck for a towing application.
One side of the clutch disc in the 13125-OFEK kit features a full facing of Feramic friction material. South Bend Clutch designed their unique feramic material for serious holding power and aggressive engagement.
The other side of the disc is lined with SBC's Performance Organic friction material. The organic clutch material engages more smoothly than feramic material, but it still has enough metal content to have sufficient holding power.
MARCELLED-FIN DESIGN
The clutch disc's friction material is riveted to fins that are purposefully engineered by South Bend Clutch with a slight wave. If the fin of the clutch disc was flat, all of its friction material would make contact with the corresponding surface at the same instant, which would create harsh clutch engagement. By using the marcelled-fin design instead, the surface of the clutch disc collapses gradually into the opposing surface so that its holding power ramps up rather engaging all at once. This allows for smoother clutch engagement without sacrificing the holding power of the friction material.
REENGINEERED PRESSURE PLATE AND FLYWHEEL
This clutch kit features a diaphragm-style pressure plate that was engineered to handle a greater plate load (3400 lbs) and allow for smoother clutch engagement. It also includes a 13" flywheel with an improved pilot bushing in the center that more smoothly accepts the nose of the input shaft.
12.25" TO 13" CLUTCH CONVERSION
The 13125-OFEK kit is a 13" clutch modified to accept a 1 1/4" (1.25") input shaft. South Bend intentionally designed it this way to create room for a disc center that is 2-3 larger and stronger than what could fit in the 12 1/4" (12.25") clutches.
WHAT IS A NON-ETH ENGINE?
ETH is an engine code for high output 24 valve engines. Here's the best way to tell the difference: Non-ETH engines are rated for 235hp, ETH engines are rated for 245hp.
NOTE:
